Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a wedding in Bali cost?
It really depends, how long is a piece of string? Every wedding is unique. Costs vary based on your guest numbers, venue choice, and the style of celebration you’re after. Some couples spend $30k, others $100k+. The best way to know is to chat with us about your vision and we’ll map out a tailored budget.
When is the best time to get married in Bali?
April to October is dry season and the most popular time for weddings. November to March is wet season, but we still plan plenty of weddings then (with wet weather plans in place). Bonus - we often have discounts during wet season, so if you don’t mind a little rain, you can save big.
What do I need to factor into my budget
Here are the essentials most couples include:
- Venue hire
- Wedding planning services
- Celebrant
- Sound for ceremony
- Flowers and styling
- Photography and videography
- Entertainment (band/DJ)
- Sound and AV for reception
- Lighting for dinner and dance floor
- Furniture and tableware hire
- Hair and makeup
- Electricity or generator fee
- Council (banjar) fee
- Additional entertainment (fire dancers, fireworks, etc.)
- Are you covering costs for your bridal party or guests?
Should we choose a villa or hotel?
Great question, it really comes down to the vibe you want. Villas give you privacy and a more intimate feel, while hotels provide convenience, catering, and guest accommodation all in one. We recorded a podcast episode all about this exact topic, have a listen before deciding. Here Us!
Do we need to come to Bali before the wedding?
Not at all! Many of our couples plan entirely from overseas. We handle the legwork, site visits, and supplier meetings, and keep you updated with videos and virtual tours. That said, if you want to come for a planning trip, we’ll line up tastings and viewings to make it worth your while.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking 12–18 months in advance for peak season dates, while some venues can book out up to 2 years ahead. Smaller weddings and elopements usually have more flexibility, booking just 1–6 months out.
Can we do a legal wedding in Bali?
Yes, but it depends on your nationality and religion. Many couples choose to do the legal paperwork at home and have a commitment ceremony in Bali. We can talk you through what’s possible for your situation.
Do you offer all-inclusive packages?
Yes, we offer both fully custom weddings and curated packages (perfect for elopements or smaller groups). Packages cover venue, celebrant, flowers, photography, planning, and more – you can add extras on top if you like.
What happens if it rains?
We’ll always have a Plan B. Most venues allow for tents, marquees, or indoor areas as backup. We’ll talk you through wet weather options early so there are no surprises.
Do you only plan big weddings?
Not at all! We love everything from proposals, to intimate elopements to 200+ guest celebrations. Big or small, we bring the same care and attention.
Do you help with guest logistics?
Yes! Through our sister company, Bali Concierge Co, we can assist with transport, tours, dinner bookings, recovery days, and more, making the whole trip amazing for your guests too.
Why should we choose Bali Brides?
We’re the most experienced team in Bali, with over 10 years of weddings under our belt. We know the venues, the suppliers, and every trick in the book to make sure your day is seamless. Plus, we’re fun to work with and planning should be fun.
How to Choose the Right Wedding Planner
Picking a wedding planner is like picking your wedding dress, you’ve got to vibe with them. You’ll be spending months (sometimes years) working together, so make sure you actually like them and feel comfortable. We often have couples come to us halfway through the planning process because things just aren’t clicking with their current planner. So if you’re doing your research, here are a few things worth paying attention to.
A few things to look out for:
Experience matters
Weddings can be chaos, things will go wrong, and you need someone who knows how to handle it calmly without freaking you (or your guests) out.
Check how they handle stress
The best planners don’t just make things pretty, they make things work. When there’s a last-minute power cut or the florist is late, you want calm, not chaos.
Busy doesn’t mean unavailable
If your planner has a packed calendar, that’s usually because they’re in demand. The key is whether they have systems, processes, and a team to keep everything moving smoothly.
Ask about backup
Not every planner has a team behind them, so make sure you know who steps in if they get sick or gosh forbid double-booked. A good planner will always have a Plan B and a solid team behind them.
Trust your gut
If you don’t click with them, don’t force it. There are plenty of planners out there, but the right one will make you feel excited and supported, not stressed or ignored.
Just choose us you wont regret it haha xoxo
