Our Story

Bali Brides was founded by Tristan Moy aka Culley after planning her own Bali wedding and experiencing first-hand the challenges of pulling off a destination celebration in a foreign country. From language barriers to supplier trust issues, she knew couples deserved better. With diplomas in Hospitality, Project, and Business Management and a big dose of Kiwi-Aussie grit. Tristan moved to Bali and built a wedding planning business that combined Western standards with local expertise.

Fast-forward 10 years, Bali Brides is now one of the island’s most trusted and recommended planning teams, with over 600 weddings and events behind us. We’re proud members of the Bali Wedding Association and are known for our transparency, creativity, and the little touches that make a wedding truly unforgettable.

Yanti, Indonesia.

Senior Wedding expert.

10 Years with Bali Brides, 300 assisted weddings and over 80 Weddings planned. 10+ Years event planning Experience. Yanti is originally from Java but has lived in Bali and been with Tristan since day ONE of Bali Brides. Working for 2 years as admin and wedding assistant before moving into a planning role. Yanti quickly learnt the role, upskiled in English, styling and all things weddings for foreigners and is now our top senior planners.

Mita, Indonesia.

Wedding expert

with 7 Years with Bali Brides. 200+ Assisted Weddings, 50+ Planned elopements and smaller events 50+ Full scale weddings. 10+ Years event planning Experience. Mita lived in Australia and worked in 5 star hotels for a couple of years before coming back to Bali and working in another planning company before joining our team. Mita has glowing reviews from her clients and her styling has been amazing the past year! Mita is perfecting her English this year with the goal to move into a senior planner role for 2025

Britta. Australia

Senior wedding expert and team leader.

4 years+ With Bali Brides. Britta worked for us prior to Covid for close to 2 years but sadly went home when the pandemic hit. Luckily the world got back to normal and Britta rejoined us in early 2023. After spending almost 3 years in Australia working as a wedding planner at a 5 star hotel, Britta came back ready to go with her new experience. With a keen eye for detail, styling and a bubbly personality, Britta joined us last year in a new position of senior planner.

Leah. Australia

Admin and Wedding Expert.

7+ Years with Bali Brides. Leah has worked behind the scenes for us for over 7 years from all things sales to admin. Leah is stepping up into a planning role from afar to help us keep up with demand for amazing and personalised planners. Leah will be doing the planning whilst our on the ground team in Bali will run your special day.

Emma. Netherlands / Bali

Emma is originally from the Netherlands but lived on and off in Bali most of her life as her parents LOVE Bali. (Whats not to love). Emma went back to the Netherlands where she went to Uni and then was working as a wedding planner there but something was missing. After 6 months of spamming Tristan wither her CV, we decided to gave her a shot and she packed up her life to join the team at Bali Brides as a wedding expert. So far she is the perfect fit to the team and her clients are raving about her go getter attitude and prompt communication!

Alissa

P.A To The Director

Alissa is based in New Zealand and is Tristans personal assistant, helping with day to day tasks, stationary and general admin. You may hear from her from time to time if you are a client of Tristan’s. Alissa is also planning a select few weddings each year with Coordination done on the day by Tristan. Limited spots are available so get in early if you want this deal!

Al

Wedding butler, assistant and client experience.

Al joined our last year after spending 9 years with another planning company and even more time before that in the industry. You will meet Al at Site Visits, Food tastings and on the day helping our amazing planning team. Think of him as your fairy god mother or extra bridesmaid. Helping you with all the things you didn’t even know you needed.

Ryan & Robby

“The Brothers”

Our All rounders, runners and wedding + elopement Assistants, two of our superstars behind the scenes and on the day assistants. You will find the brothers helping create your stationary, arranging hangover kits, driving you to site visits, lifting heavy things and helping the planning team run your day to perfection!

Steph

Steph handles your initial enquiry and is a superstar at matching your vision with the perfect venue for your wedding day. Once decided on, she will pair you with your personal wedding planner to plan every last detail for you.

Anwar

Accounts + Business Manager and all round helpful office ninja.

Anwa is an ex banker and now managers all of our invoices, payments, taxes, insurances and more. Jokingly referred to by our team as “money daddy” as he also does pays! But shhh don’t tell him we told you!

Alo

HR and Compliance

As we grow our team to keep up with demand and to help more couples tie the knot in Bali. We onboarded Alo who was a breath of fresh air to help with the day to day runnings of Bali Brides.

Peri

AKA Feri

Board of Decision makers. Peri has been with Tristan for 9 years and is on the board of Bali Brides to help on all key decisions. He also manages our office and home affairs. You may see him around if you pop into our office.
